"Why Can't I Connect?" makes it easier to resolve TCP/IP connection errors. Use it to diagnose connections to common server types and create generic clients and / or servers. I am currently releasing in Linux / Unix, Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8. A source tar, a 32 and 64 bit rpm, a 32 and 64 bit deb, and a 32 bit Windows install exe are available. This application may be used by end users to figure out errors on common server types. i.e. Email, ftp, sql connections, etc. System administrators will find the generic client and server helpful for connecting to and mimicking any type of server.
I have been writing this application and using it for years. I've added enhancements over time to cover my needs and finally decided to create a wxWidgets open source release. To my knowledge, there is no other application that offers all of my features.
